A Song to Fill the Night

O God, You have heard my prayers
my urgent prayers in the depths of night!
You have fought and won my battles
as I sit still within Your sight!

You are my Great Warrior
the Savior of my soul
Lord give me Your blessings
as I give You control!

I cannot live without You
Your urgings fill my heart
Your Spirit gives me courage
when I fear I’ll fall apart!

Oh save me, Jehovah Jireh
from the Enemy within
Save me, O my Father,
from the peril of my sin!

For my life is wrapped up in You
my soul cries out for more
of Your guidance and Your comfort
when life’s arrows make  me sore!

For no one leaves life’s journey
without going through the pain
No one feels the sunshine
without first feeling the rain!

You made us, and  You know us!
You formed us with your own hand!
I will bow before You only
and live life at Your command!

Your grace is all consuming
Bringing joy into my night
It lifts me up to walk with You
and bathes Your servant in Your light!
